Gallery: Stoughton High Drama Club Presents "Check Please"

The Stoughton High Drama Club recently presented an entertaining rendition of Jonathan Rand's "Check Please," a comedy about the difficulties of speed dating. In their leading roles, Ryan Loughran ("Guy") and Katherine Scabia ("Girl") encounter all sorts of characters while looking for the right date at L'Amour Restaurant. After a series of epic fails, Loughran and Scabia are drawn toward one another as each is about to leave the restaurant empty-handed.  In addition to Loughran and Scabia, the cast included (in order of appearance): Olivia Quattrucci, Nzinga Moore, Tessa McKeen, Jasmine Cole Marrow, Daniel Block, Matthew Moore, Arden Tran, Kiana Kountze, Caroline Cusack, Julia Quattrucci, Danielle McCullough, Alexa Luppino and Emily Leahy…

ABOUT TOWN: Stoughton Rescue Group Saves Cat (And More...)

STOUGHTON GROUP SAVES CAT: At approximately 1:30 p.m. on May 8, the Stoughton-based South Shore Disaster Animal Rescue Team (SSDART) was called for a cat in a tree behind La Salette in Attleboro. According to a press release from SSDART, the caller reported the cat had been stuck in the tree for at least three days and was approximately seventy feet up. Team leader Christopher D’Arpino (a Stoughton resident) responded to the call with rescuer Jonathan Cuneo (pictured with Timber the cat in our gallery). Once the two arrived they saw a tiger striped young male cat up in a tree perched on a very thin branch.    “The wind was the biggest concern, given the branch was very thin and the whole tree was swaying from the wind” said D’Arpino in the…

Stoughton High Student Production of "Check Please" to Bring Laughs This Weekend

The production will take place Saturday, May 12 at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. and a late Sunday matinee performance at 5 p.m.

The Stoughton High School Drama Department will be in full force this weekend as they put on their annual production, "Check Please."  This rendition of "Check Please," originally written by Jonathan Rand, is designed by the dedicated drama students here at Stoughton High.  The production will take place Saturday, May 12 at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. and a late Sunday matinee performance at 5 p.m. "Check Please" is a comedy about the difficulties of speed dating. The main roles will be played by Stoughton High students Katherine Scabia and Ryan Loughran. Megan DeSimone is the director of the production. The students at Stoughton High have been working long and hard in getting this play ready for many months now.  There is no formal drama class …
