Massachusetts State Senate Passes $1.5 Billion Road Bill -- Including $770K For Stoughton

Senator Brian A. Joyce announces the State Senate passage of a transportation bond bill that includes $772,462 for Stoughton.

The Massachusetts State Senate passed a $1.5 billion transportation bond bill that will fund transportation-related projects throughout the Commonwealth for Fiscal Year 2013, Stoughton’s State Senator Brian A. Joyce announced in a press release on April 19. The legislation also includes $200 million in Chapter 90 funds for cities and towns across the state to use for rebuilding and repairing local roads and bridges. Stoughton is slated to receive $772,462 in Chapter 90 funding, according to the press release. This is $2,292 less than the Chapter 90 funding set aside for Stoughton for this fiscal year ($774,754). There is a formula that determines how much funding a community receives.  It is based on the number of jobs, miles of road, and …

Massachusetts House Passes Bill Authorizing $200 Million for Municipal Road and Bridge Maintenance

Stoughton’s Chapter 90 funding for the upcoming fiscal year is on par with the allotment for this fiscal year.

The following is adapted from a press release from the Office of Representative William C. Galvin: Stoughton’s two State Representatives, William C. Galvin (D-Canton) and Louis L. Kafka (D-Stoughton), joined their colleagues in the Massachusetts House of Representatives in passing legislation that allotted $772,462 for the maintenance of roads and bridges in Stoughton for the upcoming fiscal year. This is $2,292 less than the Chapter 90 funding set aside for Stoughton for this fiscal year (774,754). There is a formula that determines how much funding a community receives.  It is based on the number of jobs, miles of road, and population.
