Single-Car Rollover on Route 24 in Stoughton Sends Three to Hospital

The Stoughton, Avon and Randolph Fire Departments responded to a single car rollover on Route 24 northbound near the Route 139 overpass Wednesday morning.

A single-car rollover Wednesday morning on Route 24 northbound in Stoughton near the Route 139 overpass sent three to the hospital, according to Stoughton Fire Captain Bob O'Donnell. The crash occurred shortly after 11 a.m.  The vehicle, a SUV (Jeep), was traveling northbound, and was cut off by another vehicle, causing it to rollover, O'Donnell said. The operator was ejected through the moonroof, and ended up by the guardrail in the median. She was transported to Boston Medical Center by an Avon ambulance, O'Donnell said. The other two passengers in the car, one in the front and one in the rear, were not ejected. The Stoughton Fire Department also transported them to Boston Medical Center. Car Crashes into Utility Pole on Chemung St. in Stoughton, Sends One to Hospital

A single car crash on Chemung St. in Stoughton Friday night sent the operator of the car (the lone occupant in the vehicle) to a Boston hospital. Power was knocked out in the area.

A man was transported to a Boston hospital Friday night after his vehicle struck a utility pole on Chemung St. The single car crash occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. on April 5 near the intersection of Chemung St. and Joanne Rd., according to the Stoughton Fire Department.  The car, a Ford Explorer, struck the utility pole, shearing the pole off at its base, Stoughton Fire Department Captain Robert O'Donnell said.  The pole fell parallel to the road, but brought a large wire down across Chemung St.  The operator was the lone occupant in the vehicle and was transported by the Stoughton Fire Department via ambulance to Boston Medical Center, according to O'Donnell.  The injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, O'Donnell said, noting the…

Multi-Car Crash on Route 24 in Stoughton Causes Multiple Injuries

Five people were taken to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on Route 24 north in Stoughton on Friday, Feb. 1.

A crash including multiple vehicles on Route 24 northbound near Route 139 in Stoughton shortly before noon on Friday caused a "number of injuries," according to the Massachusetts State Police twitter account. Acting Deputy Fire Chief Greg Goldberg of the Stoughton Fire Department said the crash involved five vehicles and took place in the high speed lane just past the Route 139 interchange, on the Stoughton/Canton line. Three patients from one vehicle and two patients from another vehicle were transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton with minor injuries, Goldberg said. Stoughton Driver Cited in Four Car Crash in Easton

The Monday evening incident was the result of a failure to yield, Easton Police said. One person was transported to the hospital.

One person was transported to the hospital Monday evening after a four-car accident at the intersection of Turnpike and Purchase Street in Easton. Easton Police Chief Allen Krajcik said a Stoughton driver failing to yield resulted in the chain reaction accident. "Investigation by Officer Keith Boone indicates that a 2006 Buick operated by Joseph Cohen, age 18, of Jefferson Court [in] Stoughton stopped at the stop sign on Purchase Street but then failed to yield to a vehicle heading northbound on Turnpike," Krajcik said in a statement. Two Car Accident in Stoughton Sends Two Adults and Two Children to Hospital

The accident occurred at the intersection of Washington St. and Kinsley St. Thursday evening, sending a total of four to Good Samaritan with minor injuries.

Two adults and two children were transported to the hospital with minor injuries following a two car crash in Stoughton Thursday evening, according to Captain Scott Breen of the Stoughton Fire Department. The accident took place at the corner of Washington St. (Route 138) and Kinsley St. at 5:36 p.m. on August 2. A Toyota Avalon (sedan) and Lexus SUV collided, with the Lexus rolling over onto its roof, Breen said. Three of the patients were able to get out of their respective vehicles on their own, but the female driver of the Lexus had to be helped out by first responders, although luckily she was not entrapped in the vehicle, Breen said. Since the town instituted so many turn restrictions in the downtown years ago in the interest of traffic flow there are a lot of "small" intersections in the area that had to pick up the slack so to speak, and this is one of them. State Police Cruiser Involved in Route 24 Crash Near Stoughton Line

The cruiser was hit from behind, but the trooper was not injured, according to Massachusetts State Police.

The Massachusetts State Police reported another motor vehicle accident on Route 24 in the Stoughton area Tuesday afternoon, but this time it was one of its own cruisers that was involved in the crash, rear-ended by another car. According to a press release from the MSP, "a Massachusetts State Police Cruiser was struck from behind [by] another vehicle on Route 24 southbound." The accident, reported around 4 p.m., took place in Randolph by exit 20, near the Stoughton line. "The cruiser was operating in the middle lane when it was struck from behind by another passenger car. The cruiser is reported to have sustained heavy damage," The MSP release states. UPDATE: 12-Year-Old Girl Killed in Rollover Crash on Route 24 in Stoughton

Three people were ejected in a single car crash on Route 24. The accident on the northbound side of the highway Thursday afternoon created heavy traffic during the evening commute.

Three people, all from Norton, were involved in the rollover on Route 24 northbound in Stoughton, according to Stoughton Fire Department dispatcher Joe Sbardella. The driver and the front seat passenger were both ejected, while the backseat passenger was pulled from the car by a Good Samaritan, according to State Police. Driver Charged in Sunday's Hit-and-Run Crash in Stoughton

The Stoughton Police charged a Canton woman for her role in a hit-and-run car crash at the intersection of Central and Washington Streets July 8 in Stoughton.

The driver who took off in the hit and run car crash Sunday evening in Stoughton has been identified and charged, the Stoughton Police Department announced Wednesday on the Department's Facebook page. Melissa Degrande, 38, of 3213 Windsor Woods in Canton has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury; leaving the scene of an accident with property damage; negligent operation of a motor vehicle; and failure to stop at a red light. An apparent hit-and-run accident Sunday night in Stoughton sent three to the hospital, including one who was transported to Boston via MedFlight with serious injuries, according to fire and police officials. The Stoughton Fire and Police Departments responded to the intersection of Washington and Central Streets in Stoughton shortly after 8 p.m. on July 8 for a hit-and-run accident.
