Afternoon Edition: New Restaurant, Liquor License (And More...)

NEW RESTAURANT APPROVED: CV Cafe is a familiar name.  There are places as far away as Canada and Australia with restaurants by the same name. But, Tuesday night selectmen approved a husband and wife team opening a 24-seat restaurant by that name in a space occupied by three now defunct eateries.  The Cafe is scheduled to open in the coming week at 2 Canton Street, which formerly housed a hot dog place, an Italian restaurant, and a Middle Eastern restaurant.  It's part of the Trackside Plaza near the train station. We wish them luck. In Steve Kelley, they have one of the best landlords in town.  FORMER PORTER STREET PUB:  Selectmen last night, on a motion by Cynthia Walsh, ordered the owner of the former Porter Street Pub property, at 26-28…
