In addition to the seven arrested in Brockton and Stoughton, an eighth man related to the investigation was also arrested in Connecticut. They were indicted on federal distribution of Oxycodone charges.

The following is a press release from the office of United States Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz, District of Massachusetts: Seven men were arrested in Brockton and Stoughton charged Thursday in federal court on oxycodone distribution charges and aiding and abetting. An eighth man related to the investigation was also arrested on state drug charges. John Cruz, 33; Kenneth A. Harris, Jr., 30; Isaac J. Marrero a/k/a Saki, 19; Joel Marrero, 32; Reinaldo Marrero, a/k/a Joseph, a/k/a Jo Jo, 33; and Louis Porter, 35, all of Brockton and Jose Martinez More, 34, of New York were arrested and charged April 4 in federal court with oxycodone offenses. Tom Grenon of Stoughton is directing a local production of "8", a play which deals with Proposition 8 and marriage equality for same-sex couples. The play will be held at the Christ Congregational Church, 1350 Pleasant St. in Brockton, April 6-7.
He's not an actor and hasn't been involved with theater since his college days, but after seeing an online production of "8 The Play," Stoughton's Tom Grenon was moved to action. "8," which premiered on Broadway in September of 2011 and in Los Angeles in March of 2012, deals with the issue of marriage equality for same-sex couples. It chronicles the legal effort to overturn California's Proposition 8, a 2008 ballot proposition passed by voters in that state, which defined marriage in California as only between a man and a woman, even though California had previously recognized same-sex marriage. Sgt. John Bonney led a pursuit of an alleged drunk driver from Stoughton into Brockton early Sunday morning. The driver, a 29-year-old Randolph man, faces several charges in addition to OUI, including assaulting a police officer.
An alleged drunk driver led Stoughton Police on a high speed chase into Brockton early Sunday morning, according to Executive Officer Robert Devine. Stoughton Police Sgt. John Bonney attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Jayson Zimmerman, 29, of Country Club Dr. in Randolph, on Park St. near Alger Way in Stoughton, but Zimmerman kept driving, with the pursuit eventually ending at 339 Arthur Paquin Way in Brockton, about four miles away, according to the Stoughton Police Log. Zimmerman reached speeds of around 70 during the pursuit, which took place shortly after 1:40 a.m. on March 3, Devine said. TEMPLES LOOKING TO MERGE: A Tri-Congregational Discussion on Regionalization for three local synagogues was held on Thursday, Feb. 14 at Temple Beth Emunah in Brockton. Representatives of Ahavath Torah Congregation in Stoughton and Temple Beth Am in Randolph also attended the meeting, which attracted over 250 interested parties. Alan Teperow, whose father was a former president at Temple Beth Am, was the lead facilitator of the meeting. He is Executive Director of the Synagogue Council of Massachusetts. Marvin Pardo, 35, was fatally shot at a Brockton apartment complex Sunday, November 18. His funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 24, with visiting hours being held the evening of Nov. 23.
Police are investigating a Nov. 18 shooting at an apartment complex in Brockton which killed 35-year-old Marvin Pardo, a Stoughton native and 1996 graduate of Stoughton High. Pardo was "found with gunshot wounds to his head and chest when Brockton police responded to the Madrid Square condominium on Oak Street around 3:33 a.m. Sunday," the Boston Globe reports. According to the Globe, Pardo lived on the first floor in one of the units at Madrid Square and was shot in the building's vestibule. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Brockton Police are still searching for the shooter. No arrests have been made as of yet, according to the Globe. Pardo grew up in Stoughton, attending the Gibbons Elementary School, according to his obituary. …

A shoplifter at Kohl's in Stoughton was arrested on Thursday, but not before leading Stoughton Police on an approximate 7-mile car chase that started at Kohl's and ended in Brockton.
An alleged shoplifter at Kohl's in Stoughton led Stoughton Police on a chase down Route 24 and into Brockton Thursday morning before being placed under arrest, according to Stoughton Police Executive Officer Robert Devine. Driving at speeds reaching 100 m.p.h. on Route 24 southbound as she tried to flee the scene, Janelle Pacheco, 27, of Brockton, was charged with a number of offenses including reckless operation of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, and shoplifting. Stoughton Police Officer Sandra Barrett responded to investigate a case of shoplifting at Kohl's at 501 Technology Center Drive in Stoughton at 11:11 a.m. on July 19. A 47-year-old Brockton man was arrested on July 2 after punching people in Stoughton Center.
Stoughton Police arrested a Brockton man Monday after he assaulted people in Stoughton Center and threatened police officers, SPD Executive Officer Robert Devine said. John Noonan, 47, of Brockton, was charged with two counts of assault and battery and disorderly conduct after several witnesses told police Noonan was punching people. Devine said Noonan was stationed by the bus stop in front of Honey Dew Donuts on Washington St. in the downtown. The alleged incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on July 2. Devine said the victims sustained minor injuries. Team Elite fielded an 8th grade boys' AAU basketball squad. The team features players from the Stoughton and Brockton area.
Team Elite, an AAU basketball squad, featuring 8th graders from the Stoughton and Brockton area, wrapped up a successful first season, and will continue to compete in summer league play, with an eye towards expansion in the near future. Team Elite was created by Marcel Smith, the Head Coach/Director of Basketball Operations; Marcus Siskind, the Finance Manager and Event Coordinator; Steve Andrews, the Assistant Coach and Assistant Director of Operations; as well as the owners and managers of Elite Health and Fitness in Stoughton. As a first year program, the program only fielded an 8th grade boys' team, but the Team Elite 8th graders found immediate success. The team went 18-9 and won two Zero Gravity tournaments.
