LEMONADE POURS IN MONEY FOR CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL! The third annual Tiso family lemonade stand was held at Bob’s Famous Foodmart parking lot on September 23, as part of it's Kid’s Day, which followed the annual Bob DiMatteo Memorial 5K Run/Walk. The Tiso family had hoped to top the success they had the first two years of running the stand.The first year, Hollie Tiso’s children - Grace, Gregory, Tyler and Sean - raised over $100. Last year, they raised over $300. This year, they had an INCREDIBLE day! Hollie, told About Town that with Bob's allowing them to be there, and with the help of the Teixeira family, they raised $650. But, wait! The Prone Family Foundation kicked in another $500, and with some more donations coming in by mail, it …

NEIGHBORS: NO GARAGE FOR YOU! - David Krivelow, a 12-year Stoughton resident, and his business partner, Scott Rawl of Resource Project Group, a wrecking and demolition company, were looking for a location for their 20-foot dump truck and their demolition tools, and saw the vacant eyesore at 75 Lambert Ave in Stoughton. He tells About Town, "When we saw it, we thought we'd be doing the neighbors a favor. Our intentions were all good. We figured we'd take a condemned eyesore and make it something that looked good." But, Krivelow got a taste of what the neighbors along Lambert Ave., Rockland St. and McGarvey Rd had to say on Thursday night at a Stoughton Zoning Board of Appeals meeting. Mrs Donahue has tried for years to sell the property to the town for an overvalued price and because the town showed interest, the property was rarely properly marketed. Interested parties were ignored and it only got listed in MLS when it was being considered for or in a warrant article. This is probably another ploy to get the town to step in at a ballooned rate.   more ›

Bob’s Famous Foodmart Gearing Up for Sunday’s Annual Kid’s Day, 5K Run

Bob’s Famous Foodmart’s 8th Annual Kid’s Day and 3rd Annual Bob DiMatteo Memorial 5K Run (and 3-Mile Walk and 1-mile Fun Run) takes place Sunday, Sept. 23. Proceeds go towards helping families and organizations in the Stoughton community.

Bob’s Famous Foomart will be hosting its 8th Annual Kid’s Day and 3rd Annual Bob DiMatteo Memorial 5K Run (and 3-Mile Walk) Sunday, Sept. 23 at Bob’s (289 Park St. in Stoughton). It’s two events in one. All the fun takes place, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday. Camp Westwoods & Endurance Fitness Systems are event co-sponsors. DJ David Jardin will provide the music. At 9 a.m. there will be a free 1-mile fun run for kids and at 10 a.m. there will be a 5K run and a three-mile walk. RIBBON CUTTING AT BOB’S FAMOUS FOODMART:  Owners Ron DiMatteo and George Mather were beaming at a grand opening for their new sit-down dining space at Bob’s Famous Foodmart Monday night. Bob's, located at 289 Park St. on Route 27, has been a Stoughton staple for more than 50 years. The Stoughton Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony, and Bob’s served a sampling of their wines and beers, as well as a few varieties of their Wing Dings (check out the pictures from the ribbon cutting in the media gallery). DiMatteo told About Town that he is excited about the new 15 seat dining area. The new seating area opened shortly after the Stoughton selectmen approved the plans back in April.
