Thirty five years ago this week, the historic nor'easter known as the "Blizzard of '78" walloped the state of Massachusetts along with much of the Northeast. While the blizzard actually formed on Sunday, Feb. 5, 1978, most of the snowfall occurred between Feb. 6 and Feb. 7 of that year. Boston received 27.1 inches of snow, while Providence, Rhode Island received 27.6 inches. About 100 people were killed in the Northeast from the storm, while around 4,500 were injured. Moreover, the blizzard caused more than $520 million in damage. But now, 35 years later, we're wondering what you remember from the infamous storm. Walked home out West Street in the snow up to my hips in places; couldn't get my car out of the commuter rail parking lot. Even if I had, there was really no place to drive it by the time I got home from Boston. Photos have been added from the first sunny day after the snow stopped...was it Wednesday? more ›
