Stoughton fell 70-46 at Braintree Friday night in the quarterfinals of the Division 1 South Sectional Tournament. The Black Knights end the season with a 14-8 record.
The Stoughton High girls' basketball team went into Friday night's tournament game as the consensus underdog, traveling to Braintree, last season's Division 1 South Sectional Champion. And while the Black Knights lost, 70-46, in what appears to be a lopsided margin, they were no easy out - Stoughton kept the game close throughout the first half, and even when the team fell behind by double digits in the second half, fought back. The 10th seeded Stoughton High girls' basketball team scored a 42-35 win at #7 Plymouth South in the first round of the MIAA Division 1 South Sectional Tournament Wednesday night, advancing to play #2 Braintree on Friday.

The postseason starts for the Stoughton High girls' basketball team Wednesday, Feb. 27 when the Black Knights travel to Plymouth South for a 7 p.m. game.
