First Day of School Just Around the Corner: Looking at the 2012-2013 Stoughton Public Schools Calendar

The full calendar, including key dates, vacations and early release days is posted here.

While it may seem like the 2011-2012 school year just ended, and the summer just started, it's now August, so it is time to look ahead to the upcoming school year. The first day of school for the 2012-2013 school year for students in grades 1-12 is Wednesday, September 5, 2012 (after Labor Day). Teachers (Unit A) and nurses report the day before.   Kindergarteners start Friday, September 7, 2012. The last day of school, for students in grades K-11, is Friday, June 21, 2013. The last day when including the built-in five snow days is Friday, June 28, 2013. The graduation for the Stoughton High class of 2013 is Thursday, June 6, 2013. If teachers weren't so foolish and insisting on an after Labor Day start to school, there is a really good possibility they could end the school year a lot earlier. Even with Snow Days, the school year wouldn't go until the end of June. Here, in TN, we start in mid August and end the end of May.
