The Stoughton High boys' and girls' spring track teams recently competed in the Hockomock League Championship meet. Jade Paul and Steffan Jackson were Stoughton's leading scorers.
The Stoughton High boys' outdoor track team tied Oliver Ames 68-68 in a meet held earlier this spring season, and as a result, both teams earned a share of the boys' Davenport Division title. Fittingly both teams tied again at the Hockomock League Track and Field Championship, held May 17 at Oliver Ames. Stoughton and OA finished tied for fifth with 43 points each, ahead of fellow Davenport schools Sharon, Canton and Foxboro. All 10 Hockomock teams competed on both the boys' and girls' sides. The Stoughton boys' were led by Steffan Jackson, who finished second in the 110-meter hurdles, second in the high jump and was part of the second place 4 x 100-meter relay team along with Aaron Mack, Marcus Middleton and Malachi Baugh. The All-Pro Patriots Celebrity Basketball Team took on the Stoughton Police All-Stars in a charity game to benefit the Stoughton Police Relief Association.
Last year it was quarterback Brian Hoyer who led the Patriots to victory past the Stoughton Police with a barrage of three-pointers. In this year's game, with Hoyer absent, it was another of Tom Brady's backups, Ryan Mallett, who stole the show, using his height advantage (listed at 6'6") to get dunk after dunk. The All-Pro Patriots Celebrity Basketball Team earned a 79-46 victory over the Stoughton Police All-Stars Friday night, May 18, before a capacity crowd at the Stoughton High School gymnasium. The game benefited the Stoughton Police Relief Association. Aside from Mallett, current Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski, safety Patrick Chung, linebacker Dane Fletcher, free agent running back Kevin Faulk, and former players Steve DeOssie, …

The Stoughton High softball team lost at Attleboro, and can’t finish with a record above .500, but can still qualify for the postseason by finishing first or second in the Hockomock’s Davenport Division.
Tough times continue for the Stoughton High softball team, but its postseason aspirations remain alive entering the final week of the regular season. The Black Knights lost at Attleboro 10-1 Friday afternoon, suffering their fifth consecutive defeat, and their second loss this season to the Bombardiers. With only three games remaining, and an overall record of 6-10, Stoughton can’t finish the season at or above the .500 mark, which is an automatic bid to the postseason. The only other way Stoughton can qualify for a berth to the postseason is to finish in first or second place in the Hockomock League’s Davenport Division (small schools). Currently, Oliver Ames is 6-5 in divisional play and holds the top spot with one league game remaining …
The SHS baseball team climbs back to the .500 mark with a 6-0 win at Quincy on Friday. The team is one win away from clinching a spot in the postseason tournament. Check out the media gallery for a video interview with Brian Kaplan and Jovani Pires.
The Stoughton High baseball team was in action Friday afternoon when they traveled to Quincy for a non-league match up. The Black Knights were able to come out of Adams Field with an impressive 6-0 win. The bats started rolling early with the Knights scoring early and often. Sophomore Jovani Pires led the offensive attack with a double and triple on the day. Junior captains Mike Connelly and Pat Jackman also turned in impressive performances at the plate. Senior captain Brian Kaplan pitched for the Knights, and went the distance only surrendering four hits in seven innings. Kaplan, who has been impressive all season, pitched another gem in which no more than two base runners reached in any given inning. This signifies the 9th win for …

At 8-9, and with three games left, Stoughton is on the brink of clinching a spot in the postseason tournament. Check out the media gallery for photos from the game and a video interview with Mike Gallagher and Pat Raeke.
In a game the Stoughton High baseball team needed to win to realistically keep its postseason tournament hopes alive, the Black Knights received another strong pitching performance from Mike Gallagher, received some timely hitting and took advantage of some uncharacteristic Sharon miscues, beating the Eagles 5-2 Thursday afternoon in Stoughton. With the win, Stoughton improves to 8-9 and 5-7 in the Hockomock League. Sharon is now 7-9, but with a 6-7 league record, the Eagles clinched at least a share of second place in the Hockomock's Davenport Division, making them postseason bound. The first and second place teams from both Hockomock Divisions advance to the state tournament. Stoughton is on the brink of a postseason berth. The Black …

Stoughton falls 2-0 at home to OA, despite another well-pitched game from Mike Dixon.
The Stoughton High Baseball team was in action Monday afternoon against Oliver Ames, the leader of the Davenport Division. The Knights received another strong pitching performance from junior Mike Dixon but fell 2-0 to the surging Tigers. Dixon, who carried a no-hitter into the 4th inning, only allowed single runs to score in the fourth and fifth innings, with the second of the runs being unearned. But that is all the Tigers needed to secure the win, improving to 10-3. Stoughton falls to 7-9. After today's game Dixon has pitched 23 and 1/3 innings over 4 starts, allowing 8 runs without receiving even a single run of support. Dixon, despite some tough losses has kept a very positive attitude, and is a very good example on how to make the …
