The Helen H. Hansen Elementary School is located on the corner of Central and West streets, at the foot of Chemung Hill. Home of the Hansen Hawks, Hansen is one of five public elementary schools in Stoughton. The principal is Faye Polillio. There is a playing field and a playground behind the school. Parents and students can visit the website to see the lunch menu and a calendar of upcoming events, or to learn more about the Hansen School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). There are also individual classroom websites that can be accessed via the school's main page.
