Stoughton July 4 Parade Cancelled Due to Weather

A severe weather forecast prompted organizers to call off Friday's event.

Stoughton will not have a Fourth of July parade this year.

The Stoughton Events Committee announced the cancellation Friday morning, citing heavy rains and a severe weather forecast. The committee issued the following statement Friday morning:

"After closely watching the weather patterns, it still seems as though the heaviest of rain and threat of thunderstorms will be between 1 and 3 p.m. Therefore, we are very sad to say, that we will have to cancel the Fourth of July Parade this year for the safety of our participants and spectators."
