'Murder of the Loaded Librarian' Almost a Sell-Out

The  Support Our Library Association (SOLA)'s second murder mystery play is almost a sell-out. The play will be held at Ahavath Torah Congregation, Saturday, Jan. 18, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Stoughton Library Director Pat Basler reported as of Wednesday after there were only 10-12 tickets left for the performance.

This year's play is called "Murder of the Loaded Librarian," and features a brand new cast, directed by Fred Yaitanes, assisted by Jan Jones of Stoughton Little Theatre.

The stars will be Steve Bates. John Batchelder, Bob Devine, Mark Doloff, Steve Kelley, Donna Locurto, Juliet Miller, Chris Petrie, TJ Recupero and Peggy Sewcyk. Dr. Maggie Rizzi, the Stoughton schools superintendent, will be performing on bass, while Basler will be the host. The script is written by Tom and Penny Warner. Basler was "arrested" for the murder in last year's play.

After a sell-out performance at town hall last year, a decision was made to move it to a larger venue this year. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased at the Stoughton Public Library, from cast members, or by calling 781-341-0856 or by sending a Facebook message to Dori Frankel.

Cocktails made from rum and vodka will be served at the performance, and they are being given funky names.Proceeds from the play will benefit from the library.

The snow date for the play will be Sunday, Jan. 19, at 5 p.m.
