How Will Weather Impact Stoughton's July 4th Events?

The town of Stoughton is preparing for a big celebration in honor of Independence Day this weekend, from fireworks to a carnival to a Fourth of July parade

But officials are also keeping an eye on the weather, and are looking to keep residents informed on how best to keep updated with any weather-related, last-minute change of plans.

As of Tuesday, July 1, both the fireworks and parade are planned to take place as scheduled. Should the weather become an issue for the fireworks display, the Stoughton Events committee plans to post an update by noontime on Thursday, July 3. The rain date for the fireworks is Saturday, July 5. 

NOTE: The fireworks and carnival have been rescheduled to take place Saturday, July 5 due to the weather.

The parade, however, will be held rain or shine. Should weather become hazardous, officials would make the call to cancel by 12 p.m. on Friday, July 4, according to the Stoughton Events Committee.
