And the Winner of the Pride of Stoughton Photo Contest is...

About 75 people volunteered on Sunday, April 29 for the Pride of Stoughton Day, an annual  sponsored by the Stoughton Youth Commission.

Several photos were submitted to the  right here on Stoughton Patch. 

Staff from the Stoughton Youth Commission, OASIS and Stoughton Patch selected seven finalists, representing the best and most creative pictures that we received.

We asked you, the readers, on who would win the contest. 

After a week of voting (the poll was open Monday, May 14 through Friday, May 18), Stoughton High seniors and Stoughton Youth Advisory Council members Joey Ialuna and Ross Andler took home the top prize.

In an effort to reach a pair of shoes dangling from the branch of a tree behind the skate park, Ialuna propped Andler up on his back, with Andler holding a trash stick. Ialuna took one for the team, executing the pose despite having a sprained MCL (medial collateral ligament).

The picture received 52 percent of the 446 votes cast.

Coming in second, with 30 percent of the vote, was a picture submitted by Tim Norton, science teacher at Stoughton High and coach of the SHS freshmen softball team. The team, assigned with the task of cleaning the train station, posed for a photo on the tracks while playing a mock softball game using the cleanup equipment.

Devon Bates was the pitcher; Kathleen Cellucci was the batter; Courtney Beauregard was the catcher; and Megan Dixon was the umpire.

A photo of Carolyn LaMore painting the dragon structure at the CAPP playground finished third. The photo was taken and submitted by her Stoughton Life Teen colleague Justin Braga.
