Weekend Planner: Concert in the Park, Blues Fest, Stoughton Farmers Market (And More...)

A look at activities planned in Stoughton this weekend, July 20-21.

CONCERTS IN THE PARK

The second week of the Stoughton Lions Club's 2013 Concerts in the Park Summer Concert Series continues Sunday, July 21 with a performance by Old Kids on the Block, playing big-band 30s and 40s style music. 

Concerts are are Sundays from 5-7 p.m. and are held outdoors at the Gazebo at Faxon Park (across from the Stoughton Public Library) and are free for Stoughton residents.

SOUTH SHORE BLUES FEST

Ahavath Torah Congregation in Stoughton (1179 Central St.) is hosting the South Shore Blues Fest Sunday, July 21 at 5 p.m.

The evening will feature Boston Baked Blues (led by Vinny Serino) with the Temple Horns, as well as Matt "Guitar" Murphy, Toni Lynn Washington, Rick Russell and the Cadillac Horns, and Satch Romano. 

Tickets are $35 at the door. Beer wine and snacks will be available for purchase.

HOLY GHOST OF THE AZORES FEAST

The annual celebration kicked off Friday night, and continues Saturday and Sunday at the Immaculate Conception Church parking lot in Stoughton (122 Canton St.).

There will be live music, traditional Portuguese food, fried dough, steak tips, linguica sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, beer, wine, soft drinks, coffee, and more...

All the fun takes place Saturday, July 20 from 6 p.m. until midnight, and Sunday, July 21 from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m.

STOUGHTON FARMERS MARKET

The Stoughton Farmers Market is back this Saturday, July 20, bringing fresh produce, baked goods, crafts and entertainment to downtown Stoughton. 

The Farmers Market will run every Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Trackside Plaza (2 Canton Street) from June through October.

There will be a kids' tent, with farm and train toys.

Entertainment will be a flute and guitar duo with Steve Tapper and Arnie Rosen.

People can also take a self-guided Stoughton Train Walking Tour, which includes 15 locations in the downtown area that have model trains set up for children and families to enjoy.

There is no admission to the market, which is held rain or shine. Market goers are asked to keep their pets at home.
