Two Goals From Sheehan Help Net Stoughton High Hockey a Tie vs. Apponequet

Freshman Mark Sheehan scored twice for Stoughton, erasing one goal deficits both times, helping Stoughton to a 2-2 tie.

Thanks to two goals from freshman Mark Sheehan and 23 saves in net from his older brother P.J. Sheehan, a junior captain, the Stoughton High hockey team came away with a 2-2 tie against Apponequet Friday evening at the Asiaf Arena in Brockton.

Stoughton twice trailed Apponequet by a single goal and both times Mark Sheehan tied the game up for the Black Knights. They were the first two goals of the season for Sheehan.

With the tie, Stoughton is now 0-4-1 on the season.

Apponequet scored first on a Sam Fellows goal in the first period. Stoughton responded with Sheehan's first goal midway through the second period. Ben Litwak recorded his second assist of the season.

Jason MacWilliam scored midway through the third period to put Apponequet  back up by a goal, 2-1. Sheehan scored with 3:55 minutes to play to tie the game back up. Cory Greenblatt had the assist.

Stoughton will take part in the two-game Dedham Holiday tournament at Nobles Arena in Dedham Dec. 27 and Dec. 29.
