STOYAC B and C Raiders Win Pop Warner Football Division Titles

With the STOYAC B team and C team’s respective victories over Foxboro Tuesday night, both teams won their divisions and will be advancing to postseason play.

Both games were supposed to be played last Sunday at , but Mother Nature , so the games were played on Tuesday under the lights at the .

“It was a good venue for the kids to play,” said Greg Spohn, the director of Stoughton Pop Warner Football. He thanked Stoughton High Athletic Director Ryan Donahue for letting his teams use the field on Tuesday.

The B team won their division outright, finishing 8-1 on the season after beating Foxboro 28-7. Anthony Pascarelli led the way with two rushing touchdowns. Devlin Carroll also scored on the ground, and Doug Seaman was on the receiving end of a Jake Gibb touchdown pass.

The B Raiders have a bye in the playoffs and are awaiting the results of early round games to find out their playoff opponent.

Prior to the B game, the C team played Foxboro and won 18-6, also clinching a spot in the postseason. The C Raiders finished the regular season 7-2, tied for first in their division.

Against Foxboro, Nick Spohn scored two touchdowns, one on the ground, and the other on a pass from Joey Eartbawey. Nick Hardy added the other score with a touchdown run.

They will play King Philip on Sunday in their playoff matchup.

Both the B and C cheerleaders are also enjoying successful seasons. Both did well at a Hockomock League competition and are participating in a regional competition in Springfield this weekend.
