Stoughton's Joseph Earns Soccer Honor for Regis College

Regis College junior Adena Joseph of Stougton has been named this week’s New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week in women’s soccer. It was announced on Monday afternoon. Joseph helped lead the Pride (4-5-2, 1-1-1 NECC) to a pair of wins last week.

She scored the game-winning goal in the 50th minute of a 1-0 win over Thomas. On Saturday, the junior forward scored on a penalty kick to help the Pride close out Mitchell, 3-0 for their first NECC win of the season.

The season, Joseph leads the Pride in both goals (four) and points (nine ), and ranks fourth in the NECC in goals and ninth in points. Her nine points this season rank her third all time in career points for the Pride.

She is an international relations major and the daughter of Debbie and Tony Smith.

As a sophomore, she recorded 10 points and was second in game-winning goals with four. In her freshman year, Joseph started 15 out of 16 games, leading the team in scoring with 28 points with 12 goals.
