Stoughton's Horan's a Harvard Man

Stoughton High graduate Michael Horan is in his fifth season on the Harvard University football coaching staff, second as the defensive line coach.

He also recruits in Texas and the southwest United States, including Colorado and Oklahoma. 

After a standout career at Bates, Horan started his coaching career at Stoughton High as an assistant to head coach Greg Burke, who he played for in high school. He spent one year with the Black Knights before moving to Curry College as the tight-end coach. That was followed by stints at Kings Point, linebacker coach in 2007 and Wagner as the defensive backs coach in 2008.

Horan spent three years as the assistant defensive line coach at Harvard before taking over two years ago.

In Horan’s first season heading up the defensive line, the group helped Harvard lead the nation in rushing defense (69.4 yards allowed per game) and sacks (4.2 per game).

At Bates, Horan was a senior captain and a two-time All-New England Small College Athletic Conference selection at safety as well as an All-ECAC pick in 2004.
