Stoughton Youth Baseball Team Wins Cal Ripken District Tournament, Heads to States

The Stoughton Youth Baseball 11A team won the Cal Ripken District 4 tournament going 5-1. The team advances to the state tournament in Lowell, starting July 12.

A group of Stoughton 11-year-olds will be representing the town in a state baseball championship this upcoming weekend after winning their Cal Ripken District.

The 11A all-star team from Stoughton recently won the Cal Ripken District 4 Tournament, with a 5-1 record.

Stoughton beat Dedham (12-3), Wrentham (3-1) and Mansfield (6-0). But, in order to win the district, Stoughton had to beat Foxborough, the only team to beat them in the tournament (10-3).

Stoughton did just that, winning 11-3 in the semis and 6-3 in the finals to clinch the title.

The 11A team advances to the state tournament in Lowell, which starts July 12. Stoughton will be one of only 10 teams represented at the tournament.

Stoughton players include: Evan Gibb, Michael Croke, Cameron Dirosa, Myles Powell, Colin Joyce, Colin Plante, Noah Johnson, A.J Marangos, George Currier, Tommy Jasmin, and Connor Tracey.

The team is coached by Shawn Croke, Steve Gibb, Dave Joyce, and Steve Plante.
