Stoughton's Bennett Wins Gold in Collegiate Rowing Event

Kendall Bennett (Stoughton High '08) is making waves as part of the UMass Amherst women's rowing team.

Stoughton resident Kendall Bennett was awarded the Gold Medal as the winner of the Women’s Varsity Pair at the 2012 Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia, the largest collegiate regatta in the United States.

Bennett and rowing pair partner Michaela Streitfield took first in their heat, semifinal and grand final events.

Earlier in the season, the pair, who are undefeated in the collegiate arena, won the Knecht Cup Regatta in Camden, New Jersey.

Bennett was also named to First Team 2012 All-Conference Team in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

Bennett is a 2008 graduate of and a 2012 Graduate of University of Massachusetts Amherst.

She will continue as Captain of the UMass Rowing Team next year as she enters her final year of NCAA eligibility while she is enrolled in a Graduate Degree Program in the field of Biostatistics.
