Stoughton Runners Take Part in 2012 Boston Half Marathon

Five women and three men from Stoughton ran in the 12th Annual Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) Half Marathon, held Sunday, Oct. 7. Jennifer Pearl was the top runner from Stoughton.

Eight Stoughton residents, ranging in age from 23 to 53, took part in Sunday’s 12th Annual Boston Half Marathon.

The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) reported that a "record crowd" of more than 5,400 runners made the 13.1-mile trek starting and ending at Franklin Park in Boston.

The Stoughton field included five females (Jennifer Pearl, Judy Callahan, Kamilia Vaneck, Mara Hochberg, Katherine Ziegler) and three males (Robert Seeley, Stephen Gigarjian, Arthur Baxter).

According to the B.A.A. website, Allan Kiprono (1:01:44) from Kenya won the men's race and Kim Smith (1:10:57) of New Zealand won the women's race.

The Half Marathon was presented by the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund.
