Stoughton Patch Scoreboard:Strong Showing by Cross-Country Teams

Stoughton High football team drops to fourth in rankings.

Once again, the atmosphere was electric at the McIntrye Twilight Meet at the Barnstable Fairground Saturday, the course was fast and the meet proved to be a great confidence builder for the Stoughton High boys' cross-country team with the Hockomock Championship looming next week.15 of 16 boys competing in the meet set personal bests. The first race up was the freshman race (2.1 miles), top freshman was Cameron Bean (12:20) Following were Colin Cochran 12:29, Jonathon Lessa, 13:30, Steven Bontemps, 14:18, Brian Tucker, 14:46, Ryan Dolinsky, 14:58,
In the sophomore race  Nick Quattrucci (18:00) ran his best cross country race in his young career, destroying his former personal best by more than 1:30, Raj Patel (20:28) and Nick Khuu (26:14)
The JV race followed and Sean Ellertson (20:01) and Jonathan Oliveira (21:29) kept the ball rolling with two more PR's.
Finally in the varsity race David Lockhart (16:56) led the way, followed by Antonio Irons (17:17), Alec DeNapoli (17:35), Luke Butera (19:11) and Jason Marshall (19:37).

GIRLS CROSS-COUNTRY
In a twilight meet at Barnstable Fair Grounds in Falmouth. Amy Kelly led the varsity girls in the final 5K race of the day under the lights setting a new personal record of 19.49, followed by Shannon Barkey in 21.55. In the sophomore race, also a 5K,  Julia Bobeck set a new p.r. 21.18 followed by Jennifer Billo's new p.r. 21.49Also in the sophomore race, first time on this course) Sara Vera Cruz ran 25 minutes. In the JV race, also a 5K, Fatima Julien ran 29.38, followed by Monica Pabla in 30.31 and Darya Musatova in 31.47.

FOOTBALL (5-1)
The Stoughton High football team defeated Sharon Friday night and dropped in the MIAA Football Power Ratings to fourth place, trailing Oliver Ames (16.67), Hopkinton (13.33) and North Attleborough (12.33. Stoughton has 12 rating just ahead of Walpole at 11.17.
Stoughon has the second best record in Division 3 Southeast at 5-1, behind Oliver Ames at 6-0. The Black Knights can still secure a berth by finishing second in the Hockomock League Davenport Division by winning at Foxborough. The Warriors are in Division 4 with a 4-2 record and a 12 rating.
This week, Oliver Ames is hosting Canton Saturday at 2 p.m. while 4-2 Hopkinton had a big game Friday night home against Westwood. North Attleborough (3-3) is hosting Taunton Friday at 7 p.m. Walpole (4-2) has a tough task ahead of them when they host Natick Friday at 7 p.m.

The Stoughton High golf team finished 10th at the Hockomock League Championships at Granite Links Golf Club. Mike Milavec finished fourth with an 80. Teammates Peter Cariofies and T.J. Tullis each shot 95. Sharon edged Canton by two strokes, 243-245, while Mike Breviglia was the top golfer with a 78.
