Stoughton Patch Scoreboard: Girls' Soccer Team Blanks Randolph

On Wednesday afternoon, the Stoughton Lady Knights went on the road to battle against the Randolph Blue Devils and came home with a 7-0 win. Lady Knights found the back of the next quickly when Karina McCune scored her first of three goals (hat trick) in 63 seconds of the opening kick-off. Rachel Berkowsky (tri-captain) added two goals and an assist. Abbie Roane added a goal in the second half, the first of her career. She then assisted when Kelly Barros added the first goal of her career with Berkowsky getting the assist. Barros also had the assist on a goal by Berkowsky. Tiani Paula assisted on one of McCune's goals. Keeper Marissa Williams got the shutout with McCune finishing the last 15 minutes in goal.
The game was a total team effort and the girls really concentrated on a possession style of soccer, especially in the second half. The last home game this season for the Lady Knights soccer team will be Friday, Oct. 18 vs. Oliver Ames at 3:30 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL 6-8
Wednesday, Stoughton Volleyball was defeated by Fontbonne Academy, 3-0, in three tight matches. Starring for Stoughton were Meaghan Hill with seven kills and 13 digs and Bridgette Whalen with eight blocks and eight kills. Stoughton's next match will be Friday when they travel to Foxborough High School.
