Stoughton Patch Scoreboard: Football Team to Face Canton

It will be Thanksgiving morning on an October afternoon when the Stoughton High football team hosts Canton in a 3:45  p.m. game Friday.
With the new playoff format, some teams are playing their Thanksgiving Day rivals twice in the same season. Stougnton will be at Canton on Thanksgiving Day, but that game won't count in the playoff standings.
When they play today, the Black Knights will be trying to bounce back from their first loss of the season, 35-6, to Oliver Ames. Stoughton, though, is still second in the Division 3 Southwest playoff rankings.
The Bulldogs are coming off a wild 38-35 loss to Milford as the Hawks kicked a field goal with no time left in the game.
Canton is 0-4 on the season.

VOLLEYBALL (6-7)
Stoughton volleyball team lost to a tough North Attleboro team, 3-1, Thursday. Starring for Stoughton in a losing effort were; Kayla Motley with 13 kills, 9 blocks, and 14 digs; Meaghan Hill with 15 kills, 6 aces, 12 digs, and 11 service points, and Ashley Medeiros with 23 digs, 7 kills, and 15 service points. Stoughton's next match will be Friday at Sharon with the varsity beginning at 6 p.m.in the annual "Dig For the Cure" American Cancer Fundraiser match. In a 3-1 loss to Mansfield, staring for Stoughton were Hill with 8 kills and 20 digs; and Payton Pizzano with 14 assists, 12 digs, 9 service points and 3 aces.
