Stoughton Patch Scoreboard: Football Team Second in Ratings

The Stoughton High football team might have lost their first game of the season to Oliver Ames, 35-6, Friday, but the Black Knights are still in the running for the playoff.
At 4-0, Oliver Ames is the top team at 14.75 in Division 3 Southwest, followed in second place by 3-1 Stoughton, 10.75, followed by North Attleborough, who is 2-2 on the season and has 10.5 ranking. Walpole is in fourth place at 3-1 with a 10 rating.
Both Hingham and Hopkinton lost, dropping them down to the fifth and sixth spots.
Stoughton doesn't play another top-ranked team for the rest of the season, starting with Friday's home game against Canton. But the Black Knights can't afford another loss.
North Attleborough has lost back-to-back games to Mansfield and King Philip and will face another tough test, Friday at Attleboro. The Red Rocketeers will need a win or they will fall down in the rankings.
Walpole has won its last two games by scoring 49 points against Dedham and Wellesley. They should get by next two games, at Milton and home against Norwood before a Bay State League showdown with Natick Oct. 25
Hingham will be playing Silver Lake this week, while Hopkinton will have a tough test at very strong Medfield club.
