Stoughton Patch Scoreboard: Field Hockey Team Posts First Win

Field Hockey (0-2-0)
The varsity field hockey team beat Taunton, 3-1 Courtney Campbell led the offense with two goals, while Emma Sinkus scored the other goal.
The JV field hockey team tied Taunton 0-0. Jessica Greer, Katie Eckler and Mackenzie Finnerty played well at back.
The freshmen field hockey team lost to Taunton,  6-2. Olivia Schlehuber scored both goals, while Kelly Corrigan played well at midfield.

Volleyball (2-1)
Stoughton volleyball defeated Taunton High School 3-0, Monday. Starring for Stoughton were; Meaghan Hill with 10 kills and 14 digs; Kayla Motley with 7 kills and 7 blocks; and Payton Pizzano with 16 assists. Stoughton is now 2-1 in Hockomock League and plays Sharon High School, Thursday at the SHS gym. They are hoping for a large crowd to root them on against the Eagles.

The Stoughton High football team is tied with Hopkinton for fourth place in the MIAA power rankings for Division 3 Southwest, with 10 points. North Attleboro is in the top spot with 15, while Oliver Ames is second with 13 and Walpole, third with 11. Check out the entire division ratings here.

Cross-Country
Stoughton boys' cross-county team rode the strength of their top three runners, (David Lockhart (17:22), Antonio Irons (17:52) and Alec DeNapoli (18:13) who finished first, second and fourth to defeat Milford, 28-29. Important places were picked up by the boys' fourth and fifth runners Jason Marshall (19:53) and Nick Quattrucci (19:59) over Milford's 2.95 mi course. Luke Butera (20:49) and freshman Colin Cochran (21:06) rounded out the top seven. They were followed by freshman Cameron Bean (21:12),  senior Sean Ellertson (22:02), sophomore Raj Patel (22:14), junior Jonathan Oliveira (23:45), freshmen Brian Tucker (24:32), Steven Bontemps (25:16) and Ryan Dolinsky (26:57). Captains for the boys are junior David Lockhart and senior Alec DeNapoli. This year's team has been bolstered by the addition of six freshmen - Bean, Bontemps, Cochran, Dolinsky,  Lessa and Tucker.
