Stoughton Patch Scoreboard: Canton Edges Out Girls' Soccer Team

The Stoughton High Lady Knights' soccer team played Canton to a 0-0 tie in the first half before the Bulldogs scored twice for a 2-0 win. It was a hard-fought game a tremendous effort. Next up, the Lady Knights will be at Oliver Ames, Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 4:30 p.m.

CROSS-COUNTRY

The Oliver Ames girls' team downed Stoughton, 19-44, at Borderland State Park Tuesday. Stoughton's  Amy Kelly fought hard against one of the leading runners in the Hockomock League (Emily Newman) and finished (2nd ) in 21.31. Shannon Barkey ran 22.55(10th) Julia Bobeck 23.18 (12th) Katrina Daly 24.24 (22nd) Rebekah Medina 24.43 (23rd) Jennifer Billo 24.45 (25th) New comer in her first race Sara Vera Cruz 30.37 (51st) Elizabeth Noe 35.24 (53rd) and Darya Musatova 35.24 (57th).

The Oliver Ames boys' cross-country team defeated Stoughton, 20-41. David Lockhart was the overall winner in a season best 17:52 over Borderland's 5k course.. Antonio Irons finished seventh in a personal best of 18:31 and Alec DeNapoli (18:56) also cracked the top 10.Nick Quattrucci (20:14)  and Luke Butera (20:29) were Stoughton's fourth and fifth runners. Eleven of Stoughton's 15 boys set either season bests or personal bests.
