STOUGHTON PATCH COLLEGE NOTEBOOK: Another Honor For Green

Matt Green, a junior wide receiver at Bridgewater State University, was named as a second team selection to the 2013 Beyond Sports Network Division III Football All-America Team. He caught 69 passes for 1,315 yards and 16 touchdowns, which were school records.
Jade Paul is a sophomore jumper and sprinter for the Boston University women's indoor track team. BU was predicted to finish third in the Patriot League Women's Indoor Track & Field Preseason poll behind Bucknell and Navy. The Terriers will be hosting a mult-team meet Jan. 16.
Dartaye Ruffin, a 6'8", 250-pound senior forward, started the first eight games of the season as the Drexel University men's basketball team jumped out to a 6-2 start. He is averaging 8.5 rebounds and 5.4 points per game. The Dragons will be playing at St. Joseph's Tuesday, Dec. 15.
Marcus Middleton, a freshman, is seeing action off the bench for the WPI men's basketball team. The Engineers closed out the 2013 part of their season with an 88-69 win over Keene State, Dec. 14, for their sixth straight win. WPI is now 9-1 and will next be in action Jan. 3 at Becker at 2 p.m.
Chrystal Holland has appeared in four games off the bench for the American International College's women's basketball team. The 5'9'' sophomore is a transfer student from the University of New Hampshire and is majoring in communications.
Christina Deiorio, who played at Cardinal Spellman, is a junior guard at Curry College and started the first seven games of the season, averaging 6.1 points game. The Colonels went 4-3 in the 2013 part of their season. They will next be in action Thursday, Jan. 2, at Coast Guard.
Val Driscoll, a senior forward out of Archbishop Williams, had seven rebounds for the University of Michigan in their 86-64 loss to No. 4 ranked Notre Dame, Saturday in Ann Arbor, MI. to fall to 9-0. After missing last year with a knee injury, Driscoll is bouncing back this year.
McKenna Russell, a freshman forward for the Southern Maine women's ice hockey team, had two assists in eight games. The Huskies taking a 6-3 record into the 2014 part of their schedule, which will start Friday, Jan. 3, at 7:30 p.m.
Victoria Hanson is a freshman for the Boston University's women's ice hockey team. BU is 14-3-1 on the year as Hanson has appeared in four games with a 2.22 goals average. The Terriers will be playing Dartmouth at BU's Walter Brown Arena, Jan. 4, at 3 p.m.
