Stoughton Outdoor Track Shines at Underclassmen Meet
The Stoughton High boys' and girls' track teams took part in the freshman/sophomore meet held May 4 at Newton South High School giving a chance for each team's younger members to be in the spotlight.

GIRLS

The following is from girls' coach Bob Clarke:
Ten girls from SHS competed at Newton South high school Sarurday against teams that they normally don't see.

All 10 did very well against so many of these teams.
Amy Kelly 400-meter hurdles (73.60 seconds); Sarah Quattrucci 400-meters (69.14 seconds); Shelby Sprague and Nashadee Guerrier both running in the dash (14.69 seconds and 14.71 seconds respectively); Shelby Sprague in the 100-meter hurdles (19.09 seconds); Julia Bobeck and Shannon Barkey in the mile (6.13.66 and 6.15.75 respectively).
The 4 x 400-meter team of Amy Kelly, Jennifer Billo, Marissa Williams and Amy Kelly met their seed time of 4.40.23.
The triple jumpers all did very well - Sarah Quattrucci (29'1/4"), Marissa Williams (27'6") and Jennifer Billo (26'9").
Emily Quattrucci threw the javelin 73'4" and Ashley Otero threw the shot 22' 8.25".
BOYS
The following is from Stoughton coach Harvey Blonder:
While upperclassmen have carried the team to an undefeated season so far, freshman and sophomores showed they will be a force in the future.
Jason Marshall finished first in the 400-meter hurdles in a personal best 60.45 seconds, and David Lockhart finished second in the mile (4:38.02) in a tactical race. David was caught from behind in the last 100 meters by fellow Hockomock athlete Dan Romano of Mansfield.
Marshall added a new personal best in the high jump (5'7") and later teamed with Lockhart, Jordan Taylor and John Paul Noe to place 5th in the 4 x 400-meter relay (3:45).
Alex Oliver was one place from a medal, finishing in 7th in the 110 meter high hurdles (18.69 seconds).
Others competing were: Smeet Patel and Kirby Impoinvil in the 100-meter; Neythan Cardoso, Zach Dervil and Arman Leal in the 200-meter; Antonio Irons and Evan Schulze in the mile; Matt Williams in the shotput; Edwin Burgos and Antoyne Selmon in the long jump; and Bryan Nguyen and Matt O'Connor in the javelin.
