Stoughton High's Jade Paul Turns in Top 10 Performance at New England Indoor Track Championships

Jade Paul finished in 10th place in the 600-meter run at Friday's New England Indoor Track championships. Earlier in the week, Julia Quattrucci competed in a pentathlon.

Jade Paul added another chapter to a successful senior season, finishing in 10th place in the girls’ 600-meter run at the New England Indoor Track championships, held Friday at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.

Paul finished in 1:37.94, turning in the fourth-best time by a Massachusetts runner.

This winter season started off slow for Paul, as she recovered from injury, but when she recovered, she quickly returned to top-form.

“Jade has had a long season after recovering from a concussion. She missed the first two meets, then had to work extra hard to get into racing shape,” coach Bob Clarke wrote in an email.

“Along the way she set a new school record in the 600 of 1:35.95. Jade competed in the last two league meets qualifying for 5 state qualifying events—the 300, 600, long jump, high jump and the 4x400 relay.”

Paul finished second in the 600-meter event at this winter’s , second in the same event at the and sixth in the event at the .

Earlier in the week, on February 28, Stoughton senior Julia Quattrucci competed at the Reggie Lewis track in a pentathlon.

The five events included the 55 hurdles (11.10); high jump (4'2"); long jump(12'3"); shot put (24'3"); and an 800-meter run (2:36.71).

Quattrucci finished in 33rd place with 2,000 points.
