Stoughton High Hockey Picks Up Shutout Win

The Stoughton High hockey team shutout Apponequet on Wednesday, picking up back-to-back wins for the first time since 2010.

A goal and an assist from freshman Albert Smith and a shutout in net by junior captain P.J. Sheehan helped the Stoughton High hockey team to a 2-0 victory over Apponequet Wednesday at the Driscoll Arena in Fall River.

Stoughton, winners of two straight for the first time since February of 2010, improved to 3-14-2 on the season. One of those two ties came against this same Apponequet team back in December.

In the rematch on Wednesday, junior captain Brandon Lima got Stoughton on the board first with a goal 5:33 into the second period. Smith picked up the assist, his team-leading fifth of the season.
