Stoughton High Hockey Falls to Canton

Canton scored 10 goals in Saturday's shutout win against the Black Knights.

After recording their of the season at Foxboro on Jan. 4, the was unable to keep the momentum going against a strong Canton team, losing to the Bulldogs 10-0 Saturday at the Asiaf Arena in Brockton.

With the loss, Stoughton falls to 1-6 on the season.

Canton built a 5-0 lead in the first period, before tacking on two more in the second period and three more in the final period.

Canton’s Nick O’Connor led the way with three goals. TJ Duggan added two more. Six Bulldogs scored in the shutout victory.

Stoughton goalies faced 44 shots against Canton (41 for P.J. Sheehan and 3 for Ethan Rawl). Sheehan made 31 saves, while Rawl saved all three shots he faced.

Stoughton coach Dan Mark said Brandon Lima, Cody Buckman and Jamie Connors played well in defeat.

Stoughton will look to rebound Wednesday against Oliver Ames.
