Stoughton High Girls' Track Team Turns in Solid Weekend

Jade Paul came in second in the coaches invitational and Kelly Collins qualified for states in two events.

On Saturday, May 12 five members of the Stoughton High girls' track team competed in the coaches invitational at Dilboy field in Somerville.

Jade Paul finished second overall in the 800-meter event (2:18.10).

Kelly Barros ran the 400-meter event (65.16); Deirdre Simms ran the mile (5:43.23) and Rachel Berkowsky ran in the mile (5:47.15). Kerry O'Neil, also running in the mile, finished in a personal best time of 5:48.81.

Meanwhile, at the Stoughton High track on Saturday, other members of the team were taking part in a tri-meet with Sharon and Mansfield.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Ifeoma Okeke, Alicia Macomber, Kelly Collins and Mackenzie Hudson qualified for states with a time of 52.9 seconds.

Collins also qualified for states in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.3 seconds.
