Stoughton High Girls' Indoor Track Takes Part in Relay Meet and Underclassman Meet

The Black Knights had several noteworthy performances at both meets held over the holiday weekend.

The girls’ indoor track 4 x 200-meter relay team qualified for the state meet with a time of 1.52.93. at Sunday’s MSCTA Relays, held at the Reggie Lewis track.

Ifeoma Okeke led off followed by Jade Paul, Kelly Collins and Alicia Macomber.

The shuttle hurdles relay team scored Stoughton’s only points at the relay meet, finishing fourth overall, good for 4 points.

Alicia Macomber led off followed by Leesa Snyder, Kelly Collins and MacKenzie Hudson.

The freshmen 4 x 400-meter relay team ran a new personal best of 4.47.24. Delaney Collins Led off for this team followed by Emma Sinkus, Abbie Roane and Kelly Barros.

On Monday at the Franklin track, freshmen and sophomores competed in an underclassmen meet and turned in some high quality performances.

Maya Barrant, Lisa Bontempts and Kennela Ellis all made it into the semifinals in the dash.

Girls’ coach Bob Clarke said Kelly Barros continues to impress with her finish in the 300-meter.

Kelly Linehan made it into the semi finals in the hurdles.

In the 1000-meters, Clarke said Rachel Berkowsky is “trying hard to get the qualifier for states”— she is just two seconds off. Kaitlin Elwood, Katie Daly and Rebekah Medina also ran well in the 1000-meter.

The 600-meter featured a very close race between Delaney Collins and Shannon Barkey, as the two finished just seconds part, 2:01 and 2:03 respectively.

Emelina Kozak and Michaela Sullivan took part in the mile.
