Stoughton High Girls’ Indoor Track Excels at MSTCA Meet

The girls' team took part in a two-day meet this past weekend at the Reggie Lewis Center.

At the MSTCA invitational meet at the Reggie Lewis Track on Saturday and Sunday, the had some outstanding performances, coach Bob Clarke said.

On Saturday, Kerry O'Neil took 20 seconds off her state qualifying time running (12.15.86) for the 2-mile.

Julia Quattrucci qualified for states in the 600-meters (1.47.87) and Deirdre Simms qualified for states in the 2-mile (12.37.69).

Kelly Barros is 2 seconds away in the 300-meters (47.30) and Rachel Berkowsky needs 5 seconds in the 1000-meters (3:28.50).

Leesa Snyder and Mackenzie Hudson had a long wait before their hurdle races, but both performed well—Snyder (9.84) and Hudson (10.49).

Brittney Joyce ran the dash in 8.13 seconds.

On Sunday, Alicia Macomber ran the Hurdles in 8.99 seconds.

Clarke said Jade Paul “is almost back to form after having a concussion for the first month of the season.” She ran the 600-meters in 1.38.94.

And, the 4x400 relay team of Quattrucci (65.7), Berkowsky (67.0), Hudson (65.6) and Paul (60.0) ran four seconds faster (4.18.69).
