Freshmen and sophomores on the Stoughton High boys' and girls' indoor track teams took center stage Sunday, Jan. 6 at the Reggie Lewis Center for the MSTCA Freshman/Sophomore meet.

The following is from SHS boys' coach Harvey Blonder:
Jason Marshall and Kevin Lucas earned medals at this high quality meet held at the Reggie Lewis Center. Marshall placed 4th overall in the high jump (5'4") and Lucas was 6th in the shot put (39'7").
The boys 4 x 400 relay of Marshall, Smeet Patel, Evan Schulze and David Lockhart narrowly missed medals with an 8th place finish.
Others participating in the meet were: Kirby Impoinvil (55-meter, 7.42 seconds); Alex Oliver (55-meter high hurdles, 9.71 seconds); Sean Perry (55-meter high hurdles,10.9 seconds and high jump, 5'2"); Neythan Cardoso (300-meters, 42.5 seconds); Antoyne Selmon (300-meters, 44.2 seconds); Kyle Romaine (600-meters, 1.45.47); John Paul Noe (1000-meters, 3:05); Antonio Irons (1000-meters, 3:06); Jake Gibb (shot put, 33'8"); and Lockhart (mile, 4:57.50).
Patel made the final of the dash with a personal best. Impoinvil, Cardoso, Selmon, Romaine, Lucas and Gibb's performances were all personal bests as well.

The freshman-sophomore girls' track team competed at the Reggie Lewis track on Sunday. Athlete of the meet was Shelby Sprague who made the finals in the 55-meter hurdles (10.77 seconds) and also led off the 4x400-meter relay for the Black Knights.
Delaney Collins also ran in the hurdle race. Michaela Peck and Kethney Massenat did well in the 55-meter dash. Shannon Barkey ran 5:56.08 for the mile and ran in the 4x400 relay. Leslie Camilo ran the 600-meter race in 2.04.63. Danielle Tarchara ran the 1000-meters in 4.12.57.
Michaela Peck, Kethney Massenat, Taryn Bates, and Marissa Williams ran the 4x200-meter relay in a time of 2.06.46, while Sprauge, Camilo, Alyssa McGillicuddy, and Barkey ran the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 4:57.91.
