Both teams were close on the track and in the field and a couple of seconds or inches would have tilted the meet to one of them. In the end it came down to the two relays and fittingly each team won one.

Leading point scorer for the Black Knights was Steffan Jackson who won both the 400-meter hurdles (63.2 seconds) and the 110-meter hurdles (15.5 seconds). Jackson is still recovering from two high ankle sprains sustained during the basketball season and is far from 100 percent. He had strong challenges in both races, but "refused to lose."
