Stoughton High Boys' Track Has Strong Showing at Division 2 Relays

Four Stoughton High relay teams placed in the top 10 at this weekend's event.

Continuing their strong start to the spring track season, the Stoughton boys' placed four teams in the top 10 at the Division 2 relays on Saturday at Whitman-Hanson High School.

The hurdles team of Greg Boursiquot, Alex Lorius, Patrick Claude and Jordan Ricci medaled with a 6th place finish. Brandon Alves, Fouad Njeim and Justin Rodrigues combined for 8th in the shot put. Alves, Ricci and James Brauneis also finished 8th in the discus. Boursiquot, Claude and Aaron Mack finished 9th in the long jump.

Some of the meet highlights in the throws included a personal best by Andrew Valle in the javelin and a best by Alves in the disc. On the track Ricci ran a personal record in the hurdles as did Paul Solem and Nick Green in the 400-meter event.

The boys' had a strong sophomore presence with Marcus Middleton, the Mack brothers (Aaron and Matt) and Valle.

Freshman Malachi Baugh also ran in the high quality event. Captain Marlon Crome was a member of two relays on the track and a high jump team.

The boys' and girls' track teams next travel to Canton on Tuesday.
