Stoughton High Boys' and Girls' Track Splits Against Sharon
The boys' soar to victory over the Eagles, improving to 2-0. The girls' lost, falling to 1-1, but had several noteworthy performances.
Stoughton boys’ track got a great effort from the entire team to defeat Sharon 73-58 in a dual meet Wednesday afternoon on the road, improving to 2-0 on the season.
Greg Boursiquot and Steffan Jackson went 1-2 in both hurdles races while Jackson won the high jump and Boursiqout won the long jump.
Captains Paul Solem (mile), Marlon Crome (800-meter), and Jordan Ricci (javelin) all won an event and captain Alex Lorius finished second in the high jump.

Other winners were Malachi Baugh (400-meter), Francis Ike (shotput) and James Brauneis (discus). Matt Mack (100-meter), Brandon Alves (shotput), Paul Comeau (2-mile) and Riordan Hoffman (discus) added second place finishes. Patrick Claude (long jump) and Aaron Mack (200-meter) finished third.
The win was "very satisfying" as the Black Knights were missing distance ace Nick Green (strep throat) and top sprinters Marcus Middleton and Joe Bunce-Grenon (injury). The rest of the team scored in every key area.

Meanwhile, the Stoughton girls’ track team lost 90-46 at Sharon, falling to 1-1 this spring.
Julia Quattrucci led the girls, winning the mile and the javelin, and finishing second in the 800-meter race for a total of 13.5 points
Jade Paul set another personal record, winning the 400-meter in 58.8 seconds and came in second in the 200-meter race, finishing in 27.3 seconds (also a P.R.). Paul scored 8.5 points.
Chrystal Holland won the shot put, with Ariene Ohimor coming in second and iNobrina Seng coming in third, for a sweep of the event.
Kelly Collins finished second in the hurdles. Ifeoma Okeke returned to action, finishing second in the 100-yard dash. Haley Ellertson is coming on strong with a P.R. javelin throw of 84'9".
Both teams are back in action April 26 against Oliver Ames at home.
