Stoughton Athletes Take Part in 2012 Falmouth Road Race and Sharon Triathlon
The 2012 Falmouth Road Race and 2012 Sharon Triathlon were both held Sunday, August 12. Stoughton was well-represented at both events with 38 runners taking part in the road race and 12 taking part in the triathlon.
Thirty-eight (38) runners from Stoughton flocked to the Cape Sunday, August 12, to take part in the annual New Balance Falmouth Road Race.
Meanwhile, another 12 athletes from Stoughton took part in the Sharon Triathlon on the same day.
Leanne Pacheco was the top finisher from Stoughton at the Falmouth Road Race, completing the 7-mile race in a time of 50:43, good for 569th overall in a field of more than 10,600 participants.

Gregg Pokraka was the top male runner from Stoughton at the road race, finishing second in the field of 38 Stoughton runners, with a time of 56:31.

Over in Sharon, 503 area residents took part in the triathlon - comprised of a half-mile swim, 12.4 mile bike ride and 4.4 mile run.
Stougton's James Magaldi finished 11th overall, the top finisher in his age category, males 40-44, with a combined time of 1:19:30.
Melissa Chester-Letendre was the top female finisher from Stoughton, finishing 79th overall, and fourth in her age category, females 35-39, with a combined time of 1:31:35.
Magaldi had the top Stoughton times in the swim and bike portions, while Greg Swartz, who finished 40th overall, had the best Stoughton time in the running portion.
Other triathlon participants from Stoughton included: Scott Arsenault; Debra Cohen; Paul Comerford; Miriam Crandall; Kathleen Fidler; Rachel Flynn; Joel Hoffman; Tim Howe and David Petersile.
