SHS Sports Roundup: Volleyball Wins 12th; Schlehuber Leads Field Hockey to Pair of Victories

Highlights from the Stoughton High volleyball and field hockey teams.

The Stoughton High volleyball team defeated Milford 3-0 Monday on the road.

Starring for Stoughton: Nicole Daniels with 16 kills and 9 blocks; Emma Zuk with 15 assists and one sweet pancake; and Jalen Joseph with 12 service points and 4 aces.

The win gives the already postseason bound squad a 12-4 record with two-matches left in the regular season - Wednesday at undefeated Canton and Friday at home against Randolph, which will be senior night. 

In JV action, Stoughton lost to Milford 2-0.  

The Stoughton freshmen also fell to Milford, 2-1, in their final match of the season. Starring for Stoughton in their final match were Alyssa McGillicuddy, Kethney Masserat, and Bridgette Whalen.

The Stoughton High field hockey team defeated visiting Pembroke, 1-0, Monday afternoon and beat visiting Milford, 4-0, Tuesday afternoon, improving to 4-12-1 on the season.

Against Pembroke, Ilanna Schlehuber scored the goal, assisted by Jordan Angelos and Kerry Backman. Katie Cellucci played well in goal earning the shutout.

Against Milford, Schlehuber led the offense again, this time with two goals, while Angelos and Nicole Kerman chipped in with a goal apiece. Cellucci earned her second straight shutout in goal.

In JV action, Stoughton defeated Pembroke, winning 4-0.

Courtney Campbell scored two goals, while Ashley Chipman and Kirsty Gillis scored one goal each. Monika Kelleher had the shutout in goal.

And, the JV team tied Milford 0-0. Kara Ploss had the shutout in goal.

Stoughton hosts Canton on Thursday (senior day) in the final contest of the season.
