Sheehan Stars but Stoughton High Hockey Falls to Attleboro

The Stoughton High hockey team fell 4-1 to the Attleboro High Bombardiers in a Hockomock League game at Aleixo Arena on Wednesday.

The combination of forwards Zack Dragun and Ryan Holske scored all four goals as the Attleboro High Bombardiers hockey team skated to a 4-1 victory in their Hockomock League encounter with at Aleixo Arena in Taunton.

The Bombardiers dominated the opening minutes when Dragun scored off a feed from Holske, slipping it past Black Knight goalie PJ Sheehan. Four minutes later it was Holske who found the back of the net after Sheehan stuffed him on the line twice, with Dragun and Jake Reynolds getting the assists.

Attleboro coach Mike Cripps was happy to see his first line starting to gel: "They're finally clicking. They're starting to pass the puck more and shoot more, which we've asked them to do."

Stoughton’s Josh Rubenstein made it 2-1 only 30 seconds after Holske scored, snapping Stoughton’s four game scoreless streak. Ryan McSweeney and Jacob Rohrer were credited with the assists.

But with 1:28 left in the second period, Dragun stepped up again and forced the puck over the line after another Sheehan double-save. Less than 30 seconds into the third period Holske scored on a one-timer off a great feed from Dragun to account for the final score.

Sheehan made 29 saves on the night.

Stoughton coach Dan Mark was just looking for some luck to get his struggling offense in gear, especially considering the way his sophomore goalie kept the team in the game, "That's what happens when a team is struggling they just can't catch a break but overall I thought we played well. [Sheehan] was outstanding."

The Bombardiers (2-5-2) will try to keep the momentum of a two-game unbeaten streak going when they host the on Saturday at Aleixo Arena. Meanwhile, Stoughton (1-10) also plays Saturday against King Philip at the Asiaf Arena in Brockton.
