Rally For the Rockets Today at 3:00 PM

Come to the high school to help send off the Needham High School football team as they head to Gillette Stadium for the Division 1 Super Bowl.

The big game is here!

Today at 6:00 p.m., the Rockets football team will battle the BC High Eagles for the MIAA Division 1 state title, taking the turf at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.

But before the boys head off for some serious football, fans are invited to come cheer them on at a special Send-Off Rally today at 3:00 p.m. at the high school.

As Touchdown Club president Ron Burnett put it: "Let's show our Needham Rockets how proud we are of them."

Fans are encouraged to wear Rockets colors (blue and gold) and bring signs, balloons, cowbells and noisemakers.

The team buses will be leaving the high school at 3:30 p.m., so fans should plan to gather by 3:15 p.m. along both sides of the driveway leading up to the top of the hill. Fans will also be joined by the NHS band and cheerleaders.

Beginning at 2:30 p.m. outside the high school's B Gym door, the Touchdown Club will be selling a limited number of hats and long sleeve T-shirts (large and extra-large only) with a special Rockets Super Bowl logo. The cost of each item will be $20.

Fans are encouraged to attend the game at Gillette Stadium to root the team on as they play BC High. Kick-off is set for 6:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the gate and cost $15 for adults and $12 for students and senior citizens. Parking is free (see map at right).
