Gallery: Stoughton Legion Baseball Wraps Up Week 2

The  wrapped up its second week of action, and despite holding a lead in three of the four games, went 0-4, falling to 1-7 on the season.

Last Sunday, June 17, Stoughton had a 2-0 lead against Cohasset, in the only home contest of the week, but Cohasset scored three times in the fifth and five more times in the sixth, winning 8-2. Myles Comeau and Jamie Connors had the RBIs for Stoughton.

Stoughton jumped out to a 1-0 lead on June 18 at Weymouth, but Weymouth went on to score nine unanswered runs, winning 10-4 . Kaleb Ballou had 2 RBI, while Mike Gallagher and Zach Gibb drove in a run apiece for Stoughton.

June 20 at Hyde Park, Stoughton trailed 7-0 after two innings and 9-3 after three innings, but battled back, thanks to a four-run fifth inning. Stoughton was down 11-7 heading into the final inning, the seventh, and scored three times, with the comeback effort falling just short, losing 11-10.

Leadoff hitter Pat Jackman led the offense with 3 hits, scored 2 runs and had an RBI. Sam Werman, Comeau and Fernandes each drove in a pair of runs, while Will McGrath and Kyle Phillips chipped in with 1 RBI apiece.

The next day, June 21, Stoughton dropped another one-run decision, but this time in a pitchers' duel. Stoughton scored first, with Gallagher crossing the plate on an Eric McPherson groundout in the second inning. But, Morrissette scored in the sixth and seventh innings, winning 2-1.

Gallagher turned in a solid performance on the mound, allowing just 2 runs (1 earned) on three hits in 6 and 2/3 innings of work. He struck out five.
