Jade Paul Leads Stoughton Girls’ Track at MSTCA Invitational

Paul came in third in the 400-meter and was part of the third-place 400-meter relay team at Saturday's event.

Jade Paul and the 4 x 400-meter relay team paced the Stoughton High girls’ track team this past Saturday at Durfee High School for the MSTCA Invitational.

Coach Bob Clarke said Paul “had her work cut out for her” in the 400-meter dash, but she was able to finish third overall with a time of 58.92 seconds.

The 4 x 400-meter relay team set a new personal record, running in 4:14.98, finishing third overall. The relay team consists of Lauren Pinchieri, Shaybre Davis, Julia Quattrucci and Jade Paul.

Other notable performances: Chrystal Holland set a new personal record in the shot put, with a throw of 32'5"; Quattrucci threw the javelin 96'3"; and Ifeoma Okeke continues to make her push to qualify for the state meet in the 100-yard dash.

Deirdre Simms ran the 2-mile race; Pinchieri and Mackenzie Hudson ran in the 400-meter hurdles event; Kelly Collins and Leesa Snyder ran in the 100-meter hurdles event; and Davis ran in the 200-yard event, in addition to taking part in the 400-meter relay.

Up next for both the boys’ and girls’ track teams: The Hockomock League Championships at Mansfield. Throwing events are Wednesday, while running events are Thursday.
