Recent Stoughton High Class of 2012 graduate  finished off her fantastic high school running career at the New England Championships held Saturday, June 9 in Saco, Maine

Competing in the 800-meter event, she finished in a time of 2:19.96, good for 11th overall in a field of 30.

Paul will be running for Boston University starting in the fall.

Valle Competes in MSTCA Decathlon

Andrew Valle, a junior, was the lone athlete competing for Stoughton in the recent two day MSTCA Decathlon held at Seekonk High.

Day one featured the 100-meter, triple jump, discus, high jump and 400-meter. Day two started with the 110-meter hurdles, then went on to the shot put, javelin and long jump, finishing up with the metric mile (1500-meters).

Valle was at or near his best in almost every event and finished 22d overall with a point total of 4527, his coach, Harvey Blonder, said.

"His 1500 time of 5:00.34 was especially impressive as the event had been among his weakest," Blonder said.

Valle's point total was an improvement of almost 800 points from last year's decathlon.
