Jackson, Paul Compete at All-State Track Meet

Steffan Jackson and Jade Paul represented Stoughton at Saturday's All-State Track Championships at Bridgewater State University

Steffan Jackson and Jade Paul, the Stoughton High outdoor track team’s top two performers this spring season, were Stoughton’s lone representatives at the MIAA All-State meet Saturday, June 4 at Bridgewater State University.

While neither placed, both turned in strong performances to end their respective seasons.

Jackson, representing the boys’ team, cleared 6’ in the high jump, just off his personal best of 6’2”. He finished 19th overall.

His coach, Harvey Blonder said Jackson “capped off a stellar season by competing against the best 24 jumpers in the state.”

Meanwhile, Paul, presenting the girls’ team, came in 12th in the 800-meter run, finishing in 2:20.97. She was about a half-second off from a top-ten finish.

The previous weekend, at the , also held at BSU, Jackson recorded a personal best in the high jump (6’2”), and Paul won the 800-meter race on the girls’ side with a time of 2:17.3.
