Jackson Continues "Breakout Season" at MSTCA Track Invitational

The Stoughton High boys' track team competed in the MSTCA Invitational on Saturday.

Steffan Jackson, the leading scorer for the Stoughton High boys’ track team, again paced the Black Knights at another track meet, this time at the MSTCA Invitational, held this past Saturday at Durfee High School.

Jackson was seeded 29th going into the high hurdles event, but recorded personal bests in the trials (15.95 seconds) and the finals (15.73 seconds) to finish fifth overall.

Coach Harvey Blonder said Jackson “continued his breakout season at this high quality meet.”

Blonder also said Jordan Ricci “saw his hard work and steady progression pay off” in the 400-meter hurdles event with an 11th place finish. His time of 60.62 seconds qualifies him for the state meet.

Nick Green ran the mile in 4:50, just slightly off his personal best. Brandon Alves competed in the shot put. The boys’ team also fielded two relay teams—a 4 x 100-meter team of Aaron and Matt Mack, Patrick Claude and Rici, and a 4 x 400-meter team of Marlon Crome, Paul Solem, Malachi Baugh and Jackson.
